R21 Youth Programme

The R21 Humanity Programme is a groundbreaking initiative funded by the SIE Fund and Oxfam, designed to provide long-term career and social support for individuals with Down Syndrome in Hong Kong.

At r é n, we believe in creating a world where everyone has access to meaningful work and a supportive community.

Over two years, we will provide support through vocational training, paid work experience, job referrals, and wellness activities. Our goal is to foster inclusion, confidence, and sustainable employment by equipping participants with the skills and experiences they need to thrive.

What We Offer:

Vocational Training & Job-Specific Skills – Industry-led workshops to prepare participants for employment.


On-the-Job (OTJ) Training – Hands-on work experience (minimum 24 hours training with r é n) with a competitive base salary of at least HK$1,800*.

*Calculated based on an hourly rate of HK$75 for 24 hours of on-the-job training


Job Referrals & Career Support – Connecting candidates to potential employers and partner organisations for job placement opportunities as the final phase of the employment stream.


Community Engagement – Large & small events designed to boost social skills and confidence.


Yoga & Mindfulness Classes – Supporting mental well-being and physical health.

HOW IT WORKS

Participants will be placed into small groups based on their individual needs. Each group will receive tailored support, from career coaching to well-being sessions, ensuring a holistic approach to empowerment.

WHO CAN JOIN?

  • Hong Kong residents aged 18 or above with the legal right to work.

  • Individuals who are committed to completing a 6-month training and work programme.

  • Those who are able to work at least 4 hours per day, 3 days per week.
